Melanie | 1911 comments 2022 January Nominations ~ New to YA-MA

It is time to nominate our first book of 2022! In the spirit of new beginnings, this month’s theme is to choose a book by an author that is new to YA-MA. This month, nominate a YA book by an author that is not already on our YA-MA BOOK SHELF. Also, follow the standard nominating rules (see below).

Nominating Rules:
- Nomination Period: Starts December 6 and will stay open for 7 days or until we have 4 valid nominations.
- One nomination per member.
- All nominations need to be classified as YA unless the nominating category specifically allows exceptions.
- Books must be first in a series or a standalone.
- Books must be at least 3 months old.
- Books must be available in print and not just ebook form.
- No author promotions allowed.
- The top 5 nominations will be in the polls.
Next Steps: After nominations, the books will go to a poll for 7 days to determine the winner.

Ashley (ashleycw) | 257 comments I have a lot of favorites that I don't see the authors listed. I think I'll nominate something a little lighter Shadowland by Meg Cabot

Eva | 1 comments I'd like to nominate
Six Crimson Cranes (Six Crimson Cranes, #1) by Elizabeth Lim Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim.

It's a beautiful fairy-tale retelling with an Asian setting and dragons.

What're thoughts?

Shadowland (The Mediator, #1) by Meg Cabot

Ashley (ashleycw) | 257 comments I really like this series. It's a little lighter than some of the stuff I've been reading. I like Suze, the MC. She's snarky.

DivaDiane SM | 290 comments I am able to listen to this on Scribd, so once I’m back home and can listen to audio books chances are high for this one before the end of January.
