5.10 Yggdrasil, the Giant Tree that Anchors the Worlds
Yggdrasil survives Ragnarok and two humans, Lif (life) and Lifthrasir (Eager-for-Life) who hid within the tree survive to renew the human race. Be eager to read and read a book of your choice.
Note: Books with the genre "children" or "kids" NOT found in AR Bookfinder MAY be used for this task. Required: If using this exemption, state that the book is not found in ARBookFinder

Erin | 7 comments I want to read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children The Graphic Novel by Ransom Riggs by Ransom Riggs for this challenge. Its main page does use the genre "Young Adult" and "Teen" and it IS found in the AR Bookfinder. It does NOT use the genres "Kids" or "Children" on its main page. I just want to double check that it is acceptable for this challenge. Thank you!

The AR BookFinder data is IL: MG+ so even if the genre Childrens does show up it would work
"Books that have an IL designation of MG+, UG, or UY (in the UK) may be used with no restrictions (other than general SRC and specific task requirements) However, you must state the IL designation when you post the book."

Stephanie | 400 comments I am confused, are we supposed to read a new book and reread it within the season?

Wanda (wanda71) | 1770 comments I have a question about this book-Stories Seldom Told: Biblical Stories Retold for Children and Adults. No specific genre is listed on the main page, however, it does have the word children in the subtitle. It is not listed on the AR page. Would it be acceptable for this task or any task that allows you to read the book of your choice?

Yes, if you are concerned that the genre could appear that book would work for this task.

AR Bookfinder is explained in The Rules- the use of children's books, Formats rule 4

Stormie ~ Book Dragon ~ (stormiebookdragon) | 118 comments I have read the rules for the ARBook finder and I have a hard time understanding them...but this task says any book. So, just to be on the safe side, would this work? I did not find it listed in the AR Bookfinder.

The Blue Fairy Book The Blue Fairy Book by Andrew Lang by Andrew Lang

It does say Children and Young Adult on main page.

The book is not listed in ARBookfinder. You may use it for this task. You'll need to state that the book is not in ARBookfinder when you post

Sarah | 1804 comments I read Skulduggery Pleasant before I joined this group. It does have Childrens as a main page genre, and it is on ARBookfinder, but it just misses out on being eligible:

IL: MG - BL: 4.9 - AR Pts: 10.0

As this task says read ANY book, can this include those that are on ARBookfinder but would not normally be eligible, or is it only those which aren't on ARBookfinder that can be included?

Clutching at straws here ;)

Sorry, no, your book still must meet minimum SRC requirements

Sarah | 1804 comments Oh well, it was worth asking. Thanks anyway!

Julia (julia103) | 2719 comments Second Form At Malory Towers is not on AR BookFinder but is on AR BookFinder UK with a rating which would be ineligible (MY: BL 4.9).
Since the task says "Note: Books with the genre "children" or "kids" NOT found in AR Bookfinder MAY be used for this task" and doesn't mention AR Bookfinder UK, would this be usable?

Similar to Sarah @17, I'm clutching at straws (and expect the answer to be that it's not eligible) but decided it was worth asking.

I just got back from a trip to Ireland where I bought this in a discount bookstore. It's very hard to find Enid Blyton in the U.S.
