I'm excited to read it; it was buried on my TBR, and when I read the description, I can't figure out why I let it languish....it looks really good!

Thank you! How could I resist a group named by Alondra? Besides, one of these days I may want to resurrect my Alondra's Fault list, in case I want to stop taking responsibility for my own actions leading to my huge TBR :)

Lea (leaspot) | 3635 comments I loved Ready Player One, I hope you have as much fun reading it as I did. I also read Baby Teeth which was both fun and disturbing at the same time. :-) I'm hoping to read more of the Cormoran Strike series too, I stopped after the second book and need to get back to it. Have fun with your list!

Jami (jamikap) | 235 comments Drop Dead Gorgeous - not as funny as I had hoped; I could have done without this one.

Nine Women, One Dress - cute, funny and good for when you want something light.

Lost Dogs - an apocalypse story told from the dog's point of view; I enjoyed this one.

Welcome Home Mama & Boris - I really liked this story about a deceased veteran and his sister's journey bringing home the 2 dogs that he loved while serving in Iraq.

The Stationery Shop of Tehran (sometimes just called the Stationery Shop) - very, very good. I see the author has another book out, and I plan to read that one as well.

Good to hear this, moving it up on the list. The 2 books with dogs sound interesting, too.

I think you will enjoy it!

message 26: by Jami (new)

Jami (jamikap) | 235 comments Paranoia was good; it was fast paced and interesting. However, since I waited until 2022 to read it, the "cutting edge" technology described at the time of its 2004 publication is a bit outdated!

message 27: by Jami (new)

Jami (jamikap) | 235 comments Whoops, its been awhile since I updated this list! Since I last updated my list, I read Baby Teeth (not as good as I hoped, but still pretty good); Wither (no need for me to continue this YA series; it was very formulaic); The Arrangement (suspenseful with lots of twists; will continue with this trilogy); Ghostwriter (enjoyable as always from this author); What A Dog Knows (I love my dog themed books!!!); and West With Giraffes (very interesting, based on actual events).

Right?? I am so behind. I wait until someone has 3 comments before I comment, so that I don't spam someones thread. Sometimes, I miss stuff.

Jami (jamikap) | 235 comments I finished yesterday with Ready Player 1. What a great way to finish the list. I absolutely loved this book and was entertained throughout. This has been languishing on my TBR, despite Alondra's "suggestions" that I get to it LOL! (BTW, this is one of my "Alondra's Fault" books)

〰️Beth〰️ (x1f4a0bethx1f4a0) | 470 comments 🎉📚Congratulations Jami📚💖

Alondra’s “suggestions” are almost always great reads but glad you waited so you can end the challenge on a high note.

To follow the Alondra’s Fault theme it might make the 12+4 challenge for next year all books she has suggested, great reading in 2023.

Thanks Beth! I actually did name my challenge a few years ago as Alondra's Fault; I think I did that two years in a row. I keep threatening her I am going to bring it back! I got a lot of laughs out of that and we had some fun with it!
