Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1227 comments It's my favorite time of the year (besides Christmas)!!! Time to posts lists! Last year I was trying to clear off my exploding bookshelves to make room for more books. And thanks to my Book of the Month subscription, those shelves filled up faster than I could empty them. Husband is still complaining but I'm happy and that's all that matters. He even bought me a coffee mug that says "Yes I really do need all these books!" 🤣 So my list is strictly BOTM books i need to read and pass on to friends and family. And then I can get more BOTM books!

My 12:
✔1. The Four Winds - 9/11
✔2. Survive the Night - 10/3
✔3. The Family - 8/6
✔4. Not a Happy Family - 10/31
✔5. We Are the Brennans - 1/19
✔6. Razorblade Tears - 2/17
✔7. What Comes After - 8/25
✔8. The Neighbor's Secret - 7/31
✔9. The Lincoln Highway - 12/14
✔10. Somebody's Daughter - 9/28
✔11. The Survivors - 7/15
✔12. People We Meet on Vacation - 4/20

Plus 4:
✔1. Outlawed - 2/24
✔2. How Lucky - 5/19
✔3. A Flicker in the Dark - 3/3
✔4. Everything We Didn't Say - 6/9

The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah Survive the Night by Riley Sager The Family by Naomi Krupitsky Not a Happy Family by Shari Lapena We Are the Brennans by Tracey Lange Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby What Comes After by JoAnne Tompkins The Neighbor's Secret by L. Alison Heller The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles Somebody's Daughter by Ashley C. Ford The Survivors by Jane Harper People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry Outlawed by Anna North How Lucky by Will Leitch A Flicker in the Dark by Stacy Willingham Everything We Didn't Say by Nicole Baart

Toni Fuller (tonifuller03) BOTM is seriously addicting and I have an entire bookcase (just a small three shelf bookcase) that is dedicated to BOTM books. I have many of these books on your list and have read a couple of them as well. LOVEEEEE Riley Sager and have every book of his! Can't wait to hear what you think of them!

message 5: by Denise (new)

Denise (derickert) | 1268 comments I haven't read any of your selections but most are on my TBR. I just recently joined BOTM and I can see it being addicting. Good luck with your challenge.

Kim. E. | 133 comments I think between this list and the BOTM offers I keep getting in the mail I may have to start my subscription again.

And I write this as I'm drinking out of a "I Have No Shelf Control" mug my daughter in law gave me.

I just loved this book! This was the right amount of romance and the right amount of comedy. And just the feel good book I needed at the moment. Fun book! Great beach read or pool read for this summer!

Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1227 comments Finished my 6th book - How Lucky How Lucky by Will Leitch - 4 stars

This was an interesting, quirky, awkward book. But all in a good way. I haven't read a storyline quite like this one, and I always enjoy something like that. It's hard to review it, just check it out!

Up next is one or two from these:
The Four Winds
Everything We Didn't Say
The Neighbor's Secret
The Lincoln Highway

Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1227 comments Finished my 7th book - Everything We Didn't Say. 4 strong stars.

I really enjoyed this mystery. Takes a second for it to get going but then it moves quickly. Some nice twists.

Up next:
The Neighbor's Secret

Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1227 comments Finished my 8th book - The Survivors The Survivors by Jane Harper . 3 stars

I did this as a buddybread with Alissa, which is always fun no matter how the book turns out!! 😊

I really wanted to love this one more than I did. It's a seriously slow build/burn of a book. I think that is my biggest complaint - it just took too long to get to the point. Having said that, there are constant layers being added as the book goes along. My mind was everywhere as far as "who did it" and well, I was way off on the actual culprit (which was a nice surprise). The story itself is not bad, it's just a slow burn and I can see why many didn't want to stick with it.

I just cannot get into her work. The Dry was exactly that. I was bored to tears and stopped reading after 50 pages.

Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1227 comments Finished my 9th book - The Neighbor's Secret The Neighbor's Secret by L. Alison Heller . 3 stars (I'm being generous here... it was 2 stars but the ending bumped me up)

Ok, this book was frustrating the first half of it. All the multiple storylines were getting super confusing. I can see where some didn't finish this book. I almost tossed it aside. I thought I knew for sure how it would end and what the big secret was. Out of stubbornness I continued to see if I was right. And I'm glad I finished it. The ending was nothing of what I thought, I was rather surprised by how all the storylines came together. And the second half of the book really picks up.

Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1227 comments Finished my 10th book - The Family The Family by Naomi Krupitsky . 4 atars.

So i was in between a 3 and 4 star rating. Overall I really liked the book, the characters, the story. There were many times in the book I thought it aas going to go in a different direction. The ending is what was going to push my rating down to 3 stars. It just seemed to abruptly stop and there were too many loose ends. But the overall story was strong enough for me.

Sounds interesting, do you think it might turn into a series since it has loose ends?

Hmm... I'm not sure. Given how it ended it very well could become a series. I would like to know what happens to the characters. And just thinking about it, I could really see how she could develop this into an ongoing series. I could also see where this might be a one and dine book and she leaves these dangling parts for the reader to mull over for a bit. This was her debut novel, I'll have to look her up and see what she has planned next....
