Susan | 207 comments Looking forward to this challenge. I am going to concentrate on the books on my shelves as well as the many translated titles sitting on my Kindle. I'm loosely planning to read one title a month, but would like to see if I can do better than that.

Carol (carolfromnc) | 3992 comments You've read an awesome range of books to-date! What did you think of Long Live the Post Horn! and The Child? Thumbs up? down?

message 12: by Susan (new)

Susan | 207 comments Thanks, Carol! Long Live the Post Horn was a bit too weird for me. It's very wrapped up in EU machinations, which seemed like an odd topic. I loved The Child - it was thought provoking and beautifully written.

Susan | 207 comments 10. Elena Knows by Claudia Piñeiro (Argentina), translated from Spanish by Frances Riddle

Thank you, Susan. I'll look for The Child.

I see you just finished a Pineiro. I've only read one - Betty Boo - which I thought was more successful as a description of the culture than as a mystery, and I'm tempted by Elena Knows.

Susan | 207 comments I thought Elena Knows was fantastic and immediately requested the only other Pineiro my library system has, Thursday Night Widows. It will be interesting to see how it compares.

Alwynne Do you have links to reviews Susan? Would be interested to know more about your thoughts on your choices, such a fascinating selection.

message 22: by Susan (new)

Susan | 207 comments Thanks for your comment, Alwynne. I don't write reviews but I rated the following WiT titles either 4 or 5 stars:
The Lost Daughter
Imminence
The Child
Elena Knows

The rest were either 3 or 3.5 stars. I haven't really disliked any WiT titles so far this year and have been enjoying exploring so many new authors.
