In order to increase the scope of our monthly reading, we will be experimenting with a book pool for the first 6 months of 2022.

Please nominate 3 books that you want to read in that time.

We will put them all in a pool and create a thread for the books.

Nominations open until 7 January

Wayne Jordaan | 825 comments My suggestions. If any member has read one of these, I am prepared to change up until the 31st of December. I will still try and read the original book, but want to facilitate member participation in our group reads and subsequent group discussion.

In no particular order:
* The Firm by John Grisham
* The Native Commissioner by Shaun Johnson
* The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead

I think I have a copy of The Underground Railroad somewhere and Grisham is normally easy to get hold of. For some reason I have never read him even though I like legal thrillers.

I have been toying around with the idea of The Underground Railroad for a while now, and I have a number of Grisham books on the shelf (mostly airport buys) but and enjoyed the few I read. So decided to read his books from the from first publication.
