I also read from Seanan McGuire's Wayward Children's series for this prompt: Down Among the Sticks and Bones. It was so good!

I have added the Wayward Children series to my Want To Read shelf and look forward to seeing what they're all about!

I read Tangled in Time: the Portal by Kathryn Lasky. My daughter recommended it to me. It was a good story, but the publishers haven’t accepted the third book and the two already out really leave off at a cliffhanger!

I read The Ten Thousand Doors of January for this prompt, which has actual 'doors' that connect with other worlds.

I've also read two books with my middle-schooler that would count. Both have the characters traveling to a layer of the afterlife: Cinders and Sparrows, and The Way Back.
