End-Of-The-Year Special Challenge

-This challenge has an option, you can sign up for competitive solo, or non-competitive solo and team. To clarify, solo can be competitive or non-competitive but team is ONLY non-competitive. You can also take part in solo competitive but team non-competitive.
-It starts on 17th December 2021 to 31st December 2021. It's 15 days long.

Rules:

-You’ll need to compile a tbr by (Dec 17th), with a min of 5-10 books in a tbr log which we will open. If you read a book from that list, you’ll get +5 points along with the other points mentioned below.
-You can read books that are not on your tbr, but in that case, you won’t get the +5 for knocking it from your tbr. You will still get points for the pg count, buddy reads and reviews.
-You can add more books and modify your tbr anytime.
-Rereads count as well.
-Books can be read in any format. If its an audiobook, please count the page of another edition.
-Books that you have started before December WILL count as well, as long as you finish it in December.
-The books can be of any language and any genre.
-If you are taking part non-competitive solo, the same rules apply without the point system. Books still need to be logged.
-If you are taking part non-competitive team, the same rules apply without the point system, and points for buddy reads & reviews as this will be like a big buddy read in itself. Books still need to be logged by the team leader.

Point System:

Below 100 pages: 5 points
100 - 199 pages: 10 points
200 - 299 pages: 15 points
300 - 399 pages: 20 points
400 - 499 pages: 25 points
500 - 599 pages: 30 points
600 - 699 pages: 35 points
700 - 799 pages: 40 points
800 - 899 pages: 45 points
900+ pages: 50 points
And so on.

+5 points if the book was on your tbr.
+5 points if you write a review
+5 for buddy reads in this group
+5 for reading the December BOTM(s) of THIS GROUP

Hi, I'm Bhavya. (they/she)
I'm 16 years old and from India. I will turn 17 in Jan next year. My fav genres are fantasy and classics, but I am hoping to give other genres a try soon as well.

Some of my fav series are Letters to the Lost, Six of crows, and The folk of the air. My least fav series is ACOTAR. My fav fictional couples are Malec from Shadowhunters, Jude & Cardan from TFOTA & Declan & Juliet from LTTL.

I'm team leader for this team and also a moderator (and the one who made this challenge) so feel free to ask questions regarding the challenge or the group anytime! And if anyone else wants to take up the role of team leader, let me know. :)

I tried comparing everyone's books with mine, and unfortunately aren't any books we all want to read. So I think everyone can suggest a few books and we'll decide based on what's interesting?

Hey, I'm Becky. (she/they)
I turned 19 this year and I'm from central Europe (Slovenia, if anyone is familiar with it). Currently my fav genres are fantasy and romance, but I've been trying to get into others as well. I've been in huge reading slump before this year, so I've pretty much only started reading since March-April, and before that I haven't read a thing for my pleasure for about 4-5 years.

Some of my favourite series would be Six of crows, The infernal devices and The folk of the air. And some of my fav characters/relationships, would be Kaz&Inej and Jasper from Six of crows, Magnus and Jem from Infernal devices and Jude&Cardan from TFOTA.

I'm open to reading some of 2021 LGBTQ+ releases as Bhavya mentioned, but I'm also pretty much open to anything else as well :) Just trying to broaden my reading horizon xd

I'm also in a sort of slump right now, hoping this will help me get out of it.

SOC, TID & TFOTA are such good books! Also Jem is greater than Will. its a fact. (●'◡'●)

I guess the realization of how much I enjoy English and how much better it is to read in English, really opened my eyes and made me fall in love with reading again. So it's okay :)

Sorry to hear about your reading slump as well Bhavya, really hope you'll manage to get out of it.

That's one hill I'm willing to die on! Jem is just such a great character, I literally fell for him the first moment we got to meet him.

Honestly I don't have any, because there's way to many books I would like to read at some point it's hard to decide any particular ones. So I'm open to yours, if there's any book in particular you all wanted to read :)

Some of my favorite ships are Kaz&Inej from SoC, Jude&Cardan from TFOTA, and Nick&Charlie from Heartstopper.

I'm open to LGBTQ+ releases and really anything else. Though, I was planning on reading Iron Widow this month if anyone else wants to.

I also love Nick and Charlie from Heartstopper, they are adorable!

I've been trying to read more mysteries as well and I really like the genre but as for thrillers, I hardly ever read any of those since I don't really enjoy them.

I just started Iron Widow and it’s really good so far. Zetian is awesome and I like how she choose vengeance and avenging her sister, rather than the boy who loves her.
