Everyone loves a good superhero story!

My 10 yr old handed me Study Hall of Justice by Derek Fridolfs & Dustin Nguyen to read for this prompt after we had discussed the reading challenge the day before. Wouldn't have been my pick but I love that she's sharing books with me so I read it! The format is neat (graphic novel but also journal entries, newspaper stories, etc) and the story was fine. I'm not the target audience. :)

The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken

I think that seeing dead people, sensing others, visiting their dreams and communicating with them are super powers. If you disagree, I can find another choice.

I read My Brother’s Keeper by Courtnee Turner Hoyle. This book was really, really great! I stayed up late into the night reading it and the characters and story have really stuck with me.

I read The Witch's Heart by Genevieve Gornichec. I liked it a lot, and would have liked it even more if my brain didn't insist upon comparing it to the utterly marvelous Circe. This grew on me, though, and wow! It's a debut novel! I enjoyed having a different lens for myself while reading through D'Aulaires' Norse Myths with my 10 y.o.

I read Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu to meet this prompt. It turned out my local library had a whole section of superhero books in the young adult section. The book is an origin story, but so origin that the bat cave only shows up -barely- as a bat cave, not a super, secret, high-tech, bat cave... :(

How to Stop Time A unique superpower and lessons on appreciating what we have. I will reread this book.
