For the next year, 2021, we will continue using a combined thread for the members' reads and personal challenges into one folder. Please feel free to have more than one thread though!

Here is where you can keep a list of the books you read during the year, with comments or links to reviews or statistics or whatever you want. In addition, you can have a thread for personal challenges, both new and ongoing, where you can track your progress.

Feel free to post any questions or comments in this thread.

I wasn't sure if I was going to do a challenge this year but I will do a small one, I think I will continue my clearing the shelves challenge from last year. Take off the books I have read and add any new books I have acquired since writing up that challenge.

Kat (kat_falkenroth) | 584 comments I probably should try to read all the books I already own and not buy new ones, but that would not only be a challenge indeed but sounds quite impossible to me 😆 so "a lot" is my goal. So many books, so little time...

Laurel Bradshaw (llawryf) | 703 comments My goals involve so many lists of book that I wish I could read! Sadly the reality is that I'm not likely to manage more than one book a week. But planning is half the fun!

That's pretty much my limit too Laurel with all the demands of daily life! :)

That’s ...”

This year I’ve almost managed one per week + one extra per month, on average. If I can finish two more by year’s end, which I doubt. But that’ll be my goal for next year, I think.

Laurel Bradshaw (llawryf) | 703 comments I'm not feeling realistic this year, so I'm going to say 60. But I may be reading a dozen children's books come December!

Cathie (cathiebp2) | 653 comments Out of curiosity, is there a reason why attaching links are being disabled?

I’m not sure what you mean. It’s certainly not something I have changed in this group. I can only guess it’s been done by the goodreads site I’m afraid.

I can't post an external link/website url as I get a disabled msg. With other groups, am able to do so. I just have to add the name of the article or direct to last years' post that has the link.

I don't know what to tell you Cathie. I had a look at the settings and there's nothing about that in there. I haven't touched them at all. It's not something I would have control over.

Cathie (cathiebp2) | 653 comments No worries. It was an error that stated to protect member, links are not allowed or something to that affect. If I could only share a print screen.

Cathie, so sorry, I didn't notice this question before.

You can't add links with html anymore with < a href="..." >. This is true for all of Goodreads now.

But you CAN still post raw links. Just copy the whole link and paste it or type it out: www.blah.com/blah. Goodreads will automatically make it a clickable link.
