Penn and Stacey reveal a pattern with the child abductions where the children were released after a year. Until they found Lexi’s remains, what did you think had happened to Melody? Did you think she was still alive?

No, I didn't think she was alive. She had been gone too long.

This is at the point where I began to believe that Melody was still alive. I even thought she may have been brainwashed (Stockholm Syndrome) and was still with her kidnapper.

Ditto what Robin said, especially following the interviews with those two abducted women who were returned.

I thought she escaped and was with a protector as I mentioned before. I didn't know who the protector would be, but I knew she was alive.
