For Kuwait:
The Bamboo Stalk by Saud Alsanousi

For award-winning Central or South America:
Hopscotch by Julio Cortázar (National Book Award for Translation, 1967); I’ve heard a lot about this book’s innovative structure, but have never attempted it

For Pulitzer Prize-winning book:
The Beak of the Finch: A Story of Evolution in Our Time by Jonathan Weiner; great book from 1995 on the wonders of the Galápagos
