Excellent question!
Because I like finding helpful resources for interesting quick reads of various length and hope to provide that sort of reference point for my fellow bibliophiles, I’m including on my list everything up to 150 pages.
Flash Fiction (1-4p)
Short (5-35p)
Novelette (25-49p)
Novella (30-150p)

I like how you set this out - really cool!
So for me, I am only doing books that are under 100 pages. I think that ranges in the short fiction because I normally read books over 200 pages anyway.
I laughed at your 500+ = Why? as I just came off reading a fantasy series with each book totaling 600+ pages. So why indeed! LOL
I don't like short stories that go much beyond 40-45 pgs. but I guess I'd still consider them short up to around 100+. I have also gotten to the point where much more than 400-450 pages is why???? Ever hear of an editor???

After 500 pages I just start asking myself, "Why not make it two books, Dude?". Although I have enjoyed the books I have read by him, this is the feeling I get from Brandon Sanderson.

500+ - Door Stopper? ;)

"Flash Fiction (1-4p)

Thanks for the explanation, I was always wondering about the different terms, especially novelette <-> novella, as they both translate to the same German word Novelle. But it seems easy to remember by the sound of it that novelette is the diminutive of novella.
