Andréa (fernandie) | 913 comments This is the discussion thread for Let's Make Dumplings!: A Comic Book Cookbook by Hugh Amano.

Unlikely with a cookbook, but... If you're going to discuss anything that might be spoiler-y for those who haven't finished the book yet, please use the handy spoiler feature, which hides spoilers: < spoiler > ... < / spoiler > (Remove the spaces to use.) The spoiler-y information goes in-between, and will be hidden until people click through to it.

Heidi (missheidi) | 9 comments Again, I finally got around to reading it (which is unusual for a cookbook). I liked it and I might search out another from these two, but I'm still going to order out when I get a dumpling craving.

ha ha, SAME. But I do enjoy reading about how to make things, even if I won't ever do it myself.

Russell | 80 comments I have not read this one yet but for GN and cooking I really enjoyed Relish: My Life in the Kitchen by Lucy Knisley. I even made some of the recipes that she had in the book and they were excellent!

SuperKimbit | 59 comments I only just recently got this book from my library but I just couldn't get into it. I'm not really into cookbooks but I did enjoy Relish years ago. maybe I'll try this one again another time when I'm thinking about actually making dumplings or something

If I remember correctly, Relish has more of a story to it, I think, so makes sense you'd find that one more interesting.

If you liked Relish you might also enjoy Meal

It was weird but cool!

SuperKimbit | 59 comments You are correct that that looks right up my alley! Tragically my library doesn't have it but that doesn't mean I won't be able to get my hands on it eventually!

Thanks for the recommendation!

Russell | 80 comments Does your library do ILL? That’s how I got my hands on a copy 😁

SuperKimbit | 59 comments Hey! I finally read Meal and while it wasn't officially a GN selection, I thought I'd update here that it is excellent! Thank you Russell for the awesome recommendation.

I never knew anything about eating bugs so this was definitely informative!

Glad to have another recommendation for it--it's still on my TBR!
