I’m really looking forward to playing UNO with all of you. I’m going to be sending out friend requests to all of you. Please accept those it makes it a lot easier for me to check your books throughout the month. You may also want to send friend requests to the rest of the team as it will make it much easier to find reverse cards.
Please introduce your self in your first post. Let us know if this is your first time playing UNO or if you have played before, where you are from, and what you genres you enjoy reading. You can also post a few favorite reads and if you feel like it the worst book you read last year. (I always find it really interesting to see what people hate.) Also, somewhere in that post please post a link to your Uno shelf.

Welcome to the Restaurant at the End of the Universe, where everyone and everything is welcome! I'm Insiyah, playing UNO for the second time, and I've been waiting eagerly for this for more than a month now! I live in Dubai, and my timezone is GMT +4 or Gulf Standard Time.
I'm a huge bookworm, and generally try to read like a literature student, so classics and contemporary. I'm also aiming to read more poetry this year, and books in French which I'm learning.
I read the most amount of classics last year, with 5 of Jane Austen's books. And I purchased a lot of books last year, probably more than I should have.
I've already sent friend requests to everyone, so let's all hope to have a wonderful challenge! Feel free to message me if you have any questions - the challenge can be a bit confusing at first, but you have a team to help you out.

Hi team,
I’m Annalisa. This is my sixth year playing UNO and my second year as a team captain. I was a co-captain for three years before that too. Please feel free to ask any questions you have as I remember my first year was a little confusing.
I’m from The mountains of Western North Carolina in the US.
I enjoy reading historical romance, fantasy, science fiction, romance, and I’m pretty much willing to read any genre although I’m not much for horror.
My favorite reads from last year were:

My least favorite read was:

Uno shelf: Uno-2022

I enjoy reading romance, romantic suspense, mystery, psychological thrillers, and legal thrillers, among others, I am sure I am forgetting something!
My favorite reads from last year were

I tried

I started a book club in August, and we read

Jessica's Uno Shelf 2022

I enjoy reading psychological thrillers, contemporary romance, crime/mystery/suspense thrillers and sometimes a few of historical fiction and memoirs. Not much of a fan of sci-fi fantasy, space operas and the likes.
I had a lot of favorites last year, a few of them were

Here is the link to my UNO shelf.
I'm Debra and I played UNO for the first time last year and loved it.

I'm from Chicago, US and this is my first time playing UNO.
Our fellow teammate Alyana coaxed me into checking this out :)
I love reading Non fiction and Mystery, but I enjoy almost every book that's well written and fun.
Favorite reads from last year -

Books that I did not enjoy much -

Here's a link to my UNO shelf - UNO-2022

I'm Maggie. I'm from Bristol, Connecticut which is sort of right in the middle of our state. It's a little boring, but I can easily get to Boston or NYC both which I am starting to miss like crazy. We haven't been able to visit either city since late 2019.
I'm a stay at home mom of a teen and a tween. I'm a romance reviewer and I'm working on expanding my my blog site beyond just reviews. I'm using my site to try and teach myself HTML coding. My programmer friends will probably only let me keep going like this for another month before they take over for their own sanity. I get frustrated when things don't make sense to me quickly.
This is my first time playing Uno, however this challenge came up a lot over in the Romance Readers Challenge group in the team challenges I was doing over there so I thought I would give it a try.
I love team challenges for the interaction. I'm an extrovert who has been pandemicing for too long.
I mainly read romance these days as that's my blog's focus, however I also love thrillers/suspense - military or shadow like agency based ones are my favorite. I'm a Brad Thor junkie or authors along those lines. I like contemporary fiction, "chick lit", mystery, suspense, paranormal, and light fantasy. I'll probably never be able to get through Game of Thrones or LOTR. I like historical fiction with weird twists such as time travel, or shifting planes, or anything with a witchcraft bent or flavor to it.
I'm trying to get back to reading contemporary classics from the 90s through now. I'm also trying to read more own voice works - or at least have them in our home library. Our daughter is a sophomore in high school and our son is in middle school. I have a deal with them that if they have a required reading book that I haven't read yet, I will read it with them. So far they've introduced me to The House on Mango Street, Esperanza Rising, City of Ember, Four Perfect Pebbles, and Refugee.
I'm not a fan of horror. For some reason, those books stick in my head and don't leave. I'm also not a large reader of non fiction, biographies, autobiographies, or self help books. I also have some strong opinions regarding Steinbeck, Hardy, John Locke, and John Dunne. I won't read their works again. Even for my kiddos. 🤣
Books I loved last year (fair warning I ONLY read romance last year. It's my escape.)

Book I hated -

That's basically me. I also talk too much in person, so rambling in text isn't too different from what you'd get in person.
I'm sure I'll have questions as we go along. The one thing I dislike is making mistakes that impact the team. I may ask really nit picky questions to make sure I'm logging reads properly. These are habits/issues left over from my project management career. Just let me know when I get annoying.

Hi there!

I somehow managed to skip mentioning this or doing it myself, but please also mention how your book works with your card, since your book needs to work with the card number as well as colour.
And a quick reminder - your cover needs to needs be at least 50% of the required colour (I think you're fine in that regard). And if your book doesn't meet the cards we have this round, keep it in reserve for the next rounds.

EDIT: Alyana, I've added your books to Red 9 and Yellow 2.

Thank you Insiyah! My green fits with 6 too for the title. 🙂

Helllooo! Lol

Welcome Alyana, I agree with you that House of Hollow was missing something. I didn't hate it and it did get me thinking but it didn't work for me. I would not have read it without the BOM incentive. I read 9 November a while ago and loved it. I think we might have some common reads.

Possible cards:
Red
1: first in series
2- main character's last names starts with "T"

Welcome Debra, I've been meaning to read the foundation series for years. I don't know why I haven't but I might need to give it a try since that i author can be very nice for 5s and we do have 7 reverses this first hand.

Possible cards:
Red
1: first in series
2- main character's last names starts with "T""
Will also work for a reverse and there is a draw 2 in the hand with the Red 2 so we can double up there!

Yeah I just read it for the BOM incentive, it's just the story was really weird for me.

Hi Maggie, Ask all the questions you want. I will not mind at all. I also have a tendency to ask questions. The first little bit of playing Uno can be a little confusing but it does quickly start making sense.
