GailW (abbygg) | 1116 comments YEAR END REVIEW
2022: I read 100 books against my goal of 90. 75% of my reading this year was from female authors as compared to <70% in prior years. 51% were mysteries, which is only slightly lower than my highest ever in "crazy" 2020. 57% of my total books read were from new authors, 47 of whom were female authors. Audiobooks at 19% are significantly lower than in previous years, mainly because my work commute is minimal; however, ebooks increased because I am spending more time away from home on family issues and it is easier to travel with the e-reader. I made a concerted effort to read physical books from my shelves that were put on GoodReads more than 3 years ago, but this only served to reduce the number of books read that were published in the current year. I joined two new groups mid-year: Mystery/Thriller and Reading the World. I found their challenges fun and wanted to give them a try.

I have already scheduled myself for their challenges in 2023. I have overscheduled myself already for too many challenges for 2023 and will need to pare back on some to reduce the required reading quantity. But rather than quit any of them, I will look to simply complete fewer prompts on a few of them.
