1. (✔️) A book set in a different country than you live in -
The Space Between Us by Thrity Umrigar(2006). Read 2/2/2022. Takes place in old Bombay (now Mumbai), India. Depicts the harsh differences between social classes of the educationally and economically well-off and of the impoverished, uneducated poor living in the slums. It is the story of upper middle class Sera Dubash and her maid Bhima, who though living under different circumstances, experience the same sense of loss in their marriages and families in this patriarchal society. Wonderful descriptive writing that transports the reader into the scenes of every day life in Bombay - especially the slums, the busyness of the city, and the redemptive awakening found in the sea.2. (✔️) Read a book by an author that you never read before -
A Stranger Here Below by Charles Fergus(2019) - Read 2/27/20223. (✔️) A book that someone recommended to you -
The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman(2021) - read 6/21/20224. A book that is a different genre than your normal type of read (could be out of your comfort zone).
5 & 6. Two books from a series you haven't completed yet (everyone has that one or two books to still read to catch up in a series)
7. (✔️) (A book that comes out in 2022 -
The Woman in the Library by Sulari Gentill(2022) - read 6/29/20228. (✔️) A book you meant to read in 2021 but never got around to it -
The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles(2021) - Read 2/13/2022 - I enjoyed A Gentleman in Moscow and finally got Lincoln Highway from the library.9. (✔️) A book that came out before you were born (this one might be harder to do but we know you can handle it) -
Payment Deferred by C.S. Forester(1926) - read 3/6/202210. A book that is done by more than one author (it can be a book of short stories by different authors, or one book that is one story with more than 1 author like Patterson or Evanovich I'm sure there are others.
