Hi guys. You can request any Fairy Tale Retellings that you want down below. Say if you want to read retelling where the main characters have a cute pet or want a dystopia retelling or some such, then you can request it below. Happy reading and as always, have fun, be kind and participate. :)

Bookish Does anyone know of any clean Aladdin retellings other than The Orphan’s Wish by Melanie Dickerson and The Desert Princess by Melanie Cellier? I recently watched the movie and now I really want to find a new retelling.
There is a novelization of the 2019 movie though, so maybe I’ll try that.

Bookish Oh. I just found the topic for that.

The Sultan and the Storyteller (A Villain's Ever After, #2) by Lichelle Slater
This book does have a fade to black scene that did make some readers uncomfortable. It's not Aladdin but it is based on Arabian Nights.

Thief of Cahraman (Fairytales of Folkshore, #1) by Lucy Tempest
The Selection meets Aladdin This is a whole series!

I found this whole shelf filled with Aladdin stories!

Here are a bunch of other shelves!

By the way if you click on the book covers it will take you to the books pages on Goodreads!

message 9: by Bookish (new)

Bookish Thanks! I’ve considered reading the A Villain’s Ever After series, but haven’t gotten around to it. I probably won’t read that one though (a little dark for my tastes, too).
I tried Thief of Cahraman once, but I got bored pretty quickly. Maybe I’ll try again.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Yeah it did look creepy and scary. You're welcome!

If anyone sees any Goldilocks and the three bears retellings let me know. And not the little kid kind. I can't find any anywhere.

Goldie Locke and the were bears series! It is paranormal and I think it does have some moderate language and violence.

I didn't read it but I did read the Cindy Eller series! It was amazing!

Bookish There’s Bearly Free by Abigail Manning. I wasn’t a huge fan, but that’s probably just me. Beware: her books have quite a few typos.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Hmm, I'll have to look at those. Thanks!!

message 16: by Bookish (new)

Bookish Happy to help! Gotta find some use for my useless knack for remembering every retention I’ve ever read and still keep them straight! 😂

My favorite in the A Villian's Ever After Series is A Bear's Bride by Shari L. Tapscott. The other books were 4 or 3 stars for me

Lol! You've come to the right place

message 20: by Bookish (new)

Bookish Isn’t A Bear’s Bride in the Entwined Tales series?

And that was supposed to say “retellings”, not “retentions” (ugh, autocorrect)

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Then we both share a annoying tick. (No one in my family cares what series I just read)

message 22: by Bookish (new)

Bookish I read to quickly for anyone to keep up if they tried. The only books in common I have with my one friend who reads is Harry Potter. And I’m not very into that anymore. (I mayyy have been completely obsessed for like two years a few years ago)

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't even know the first thing about Harry Potter. But dito on the fast reading thing.

message 24: by Bookish (new)

Bookish I’d completely scorned it before, because it was so popular (don’t ask why, my mind is just strange that way) My aunt convinced me to watch the first movie, so I did. And then I read all the books and started watching the rest of the movies. I recently (ish) went back to reread them, and they’re honestly not very good. Probably because I’m used to YA.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

I have a friend who is starting to read them. For years I tried to work up to reading them, still haven't. We'll see.

message 26: by Bookish (new)

Bookish They’re a more middle-grade writing style, and now it would drive me crazy that it’s all one POV. For the entire seven books!

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Ouch, wow. Now I see why the review of Percy Jackson said, "Look no further for the next Harry Potter".

message 28: by Bookish (new)

Bookish Do they do that too?

I could never get myself to read those. I’m not into mythology and stuff. And I prefer plain old fantasy. Which, contrary to popular belief, Harry Potter is not. It actually takes place in the ‘90s

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Percy Jackson is amazing. I hated mythology. Then I understood the words hot guy in Greek armor.

I have that same problem! When I'm free for the day, I can typically read a book (400 pages) or so in half a day or a few hours. What about you? Maybe we finally found someone who reads as fast as us

I also have not read the Harry Potter series strangely enough for how popular they are. Percy Jackson is all from one view point. From what I heard, Harry Potter reads very much as a children's book, so anyone older than 12 might find it boring unless it was for nostalgia (might I said might. Please don't kill me lol)

message 32: by Bookish (new)

Bookish I fully agree about Harry Potter… it’s actually pretty young.
I actually do have a similar reading pace! I can read 2 or 3 books in a day if I have nothing else… or decide to procrastinate everything else.

Same! That's so cool. We're both book devourers.
