i loved this book, i don't understand the hate at all. was way better at hooking me in than six of crows.

I didn't really enjoy this book, I rated it 3 stars mainly because I loved the world building, and the plot, and the writing. But the characters? Ugh. Mal was irritating and kinda douchebaggy. Alina was so annoying, and whiny, and acted so similarly to the stereotypical YA MC trope. The Darkling? Like did no one else see a character called the Darkling becoming the bad guy? The only characters I did actually like were Genya and David, they are what made this book for me. Also I quite like Zoya, especially in the Rule of Wolves series.
