Lyn Denison (lyndenisonauthor) | 10 comments Ann McMan's THE BIG TOW is hilarious. And Vera aka Nick is a POC. The characters and situations in this read are priceless.

AnnMaree Of Oz (amofoz) | 2 comments Deja Elise has some awesome WLW books with women of color! As is one herself!

I've read The Bluest Christmas and A Divine Kind of Christmas and loved them both, and have two others on my kindle when I can get to them.

the author needs to be POC too and that Ann McMan is not POC although The Big Tow counts for Romcom (square 24)

Hi, Henriette,

You may be thinking of Jae's Sapphic Book Bingo, which says "POC character: Read a sapphic book featuring a protagonist who’s a person of color, written by a POC author."

https://jae-fiction.com/sapphic-book-...

For the IHL challenge, it says "POC Character: One of the main characters is a person of color."

https://iheartlesfic.com/2022-ihl-rea...

(My apologies to anyone who is cringing that I put info on a "competitor's" challenge here. I would guess that about 93% of the people who know of the one, know of the other. And those who didn't yet will only be happy that they have a complementary challenge to check out.)

Janice, you are right. Sorry for the confusion - I am doing both the Bingo and the Challenge.
BTW As a reader I see no competition here. It's great to have to fun ways to explore more books, different authors and stretch our reading wings a bit.

Monique S. (monique1109) I am going for "Tell Me How You Really Feel" for this. One I can really recommend is "Honey Girl" and I can also recommend "A woman to Treasure" by Ali Vali.

Kate Lockhart | 1 comments I think I'm going to reread Finding Jessica Lambert, which is one of my favorites by Clare Ashton. Highly recommend it!

Nelle (isabeaublue) | 46 comments Currently reading Neither Here Nor There by Nikki Harmon. The MC is Black. It's very interesting so far - MC discovers she can see and change choices she's made to have different outcomes in her life. Can't wait to see what happens. (Also on KU)

slagathor | 4 comments Last year I've read Chef's Kiss and The Missus and I think both have one POC character, though I am not 100% sure about the latter, so anyone who knows, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Chef's Kiss works for this one though 100% and both books are also on Kindle Unlimited. :)

For this challenge I'm going to be reading Write for Her, which btw is also on KU for all you broke peeps out there like me.
