Welcome to the Nerd Herd. My name is Amy and I am a book addict. 😉 I am hoping to get this club organized with at least one group read a month. I might do a few books, based on interest. Please be patient with me as I get this thing off the ground. 👍

Jenna (bookendbeans) | 13 comments Hellloooooo!
I’m excited for this group! I’ve been an avid reader my whole life but kind of dropped off as I became an adult. This past year I decided I needed to jump back in and read 100 books! Didn’t plan on it but eventually realized I could do it and set that goal!

I’m from the Chicago suburbs and live with 2 pesky cats who are freaking adorable. I’m engaged and will be getting married in May! Woo!

Anyways excited to get to know everyone that joins!

Sarah Atkins | 1 comments Hey! I'm excited for this group!

My name is Sarah, I'm a stay at home mom of 4 boys, and I am a book addict! I grew up reading alot and kinda stopped as I became an adult and mom. I started back up a couple years ago. I have a pretty big collection of books and I am at the library a couple times a month.

Roseann Wilford | 8 comments 14 years ago I read like it was my air. My daughter was fighting cancer and reading was my getaway. I read mostly easy reading romance and paranormal books. I told everyone “my life is real enough. I want and need to read something not so real.” My daughter is surviving against the odds. I haven’t been reading that much. Last year I pushed myself to seek out some great books, and I finished over 20 books. I’d really like to read more, and have people to discuss the books I’m reading.

Laurie Peterson | 33 comments Hello! I’m excited about this group! I’m a single mom of 2 grown kids. I work full time and my 23 year old son who has Down Syndrome lives with me. My 26 year old daughter made me a grandma for the first time last March. He is such a gift! I love to read (real and ebooks) and listen to audio books. My favorites are dramas, thrillers, and suspense. I’m willing to give just about anything a try :)

Ashlee | 11 comments Hi there all,
I'm so happy to be part of this group. I love to read, always have. My name is Ash and I'm a stay at home mom/homeschool teacher to 3 boys and reading is my escape. I love all books. I have five bookshelves full to the brim and several stacks sitting on the floor, yet I keep buying books. I love to buy second hand...it's cheaper and you get books that have a story because they've been everywhere, they have traveled and had different owners and maybe went abroad. I love used books I'm sure you can tell. I look very forward to doing group reads. I've never really done a group read so I look forward to the group discussions and getting to share. Happy reading y'all!

Mirna | 17 comments Hi everyone, my name is Mirna. I am originally from Serbia, but live in Atlanta. Used to be a book nerd, then dropped it, and now I am back! Looking forward to reading books with everyone!

message 8: by Liz David (new)

Liz David (lizdavid) | 1 comments Hi everybody! My name is Liz, I live in southeastern Pennsylvania, and have always been a reader. Like many of you, my reading slowed down when my kids were young, but with a 12 and 19 year old, I now have much more time to lose myself in a book. I love any kind of book, but my genre of choice is usually a good thriller/mystery. So excited to join a group of fellow readers!

Amber Whitcomb | 1 comments Hello!! I'm from Michigan and a complete book nerd! I love reading and often times struggle to stop! I have two teens, 17 and almost 14 so in recent months I have had time to actually read. I do love a good audiobook as well. My interests vary widely. I cannot wait to engage with this group!

message 10: by Debra Callaway (new)

Debra Callaway | 4 comments Hi Nerd Herd!! I’ve been wanting to join a book club for the longest time so I’m very excited about this!! Thank
You Amy!! I am currently working in healthcare and also a caregiver for my father who has been in ill health since March. I have loved reading since I was a child and still love it although over the last 2 hectic years I have found myself glued to my phone instead of a really good back and I’m looking to change that in this new year. Can’t wait to get starting and looking forward to getting to know you all more in the future!!

message 11: by Linda (new)

Linda J. Collins | 2 comments I'm retired and have been an avid reader all my life. I'm also a writer and published my first book of historical fiction last year and am working on my second book. I've never been in a book club before, and I'm looking forward to your recommendations!

message 12: by Chikwashi (new)

Chikwashi | 1 comments Hello! I am from Lusaka, Zambia. My reading has slowed down as I have two boys aged 5 and 1, and a full time job! I am hoping to get back to reading atleast one book every month as it is my escape and makes me happy . I especially enjoy romance, drama and historical.

message 13: by Nada (new)

Nada | 2 comments Hello everyone!
My name is Nada (which means Dew).
I'm undergrad, currently studying to become a clinical pharmacist one day, hopefully. Unfortunately the only books I read now are Medical or Pharmaceutical and I hope I can change that a bit.
So all of my life I detested reading and thought it wasn't fun, but after having the actual chance to read books away from school the whole journey turned out to be amazing.
I'm really excited to be in this group I hope we can have some enriching conversations.

I set my goal to 50 books every year and in 2021 manage to achieve it. I hope I manage to do this in 2022 too.
