Thanks Emily. I read quite a bit of non-fiction, so if all goes well I should make it.

Good luck Wayne. I'll keep checking in to see what you've selected

Hi Bill, thanks. Just finished Mary Kingsley's account of her sojourn to West Africa. I will not preselect non-fiction reads as I normally do (and then mostly disregard ;,>)) but just list those I finish. I do have a couple I am looking forward to on the reading horizon.

Wayne Jordaan | 189 comments I am a bit behind with my NF reads and my short reviews, but all in the very good category

Ioana | 2122 comments Some great titles, Wayne...I haven't read any of these, but I have some of them and you just put them back on my radar. Thanks!

Wayne Jordaan | 189 comments Yes Iona. There is quite a South African/African bias to my reading, I was most pleasantly surprised by the Mary H. Kingsley's account of her fieldtrips to West Africa. A remarkable woman, and a great read.

〰️Beth〰️ (x1f4a0bethx1f4a0) | 470 comments You are doing great Wayne! I have tried to add more NF the last two years but I am not doing so well. Think I will add Homage to my list, but you have a few that look interesting.

Best wishes on the the rest of your challenge!

Thanks Beth, but going into the second semester of the year, I wanted to be further along. I enjoyed Homage, and I can affirm that all of them are indeed interesting. From the inspirational deeply saddening stories of Malala Yosafzai, the pioneering indomitable spirits of Mary H. Kingsley and Dervla Murphy, to particular viewpoints of the liberation histories of Eritrea, Guinea Bissau and South Africa, and the heroic struggle of farmer Kas Maine against an oppressive regime and harsh climate, I must state I have read some good ones. I hope to dig into more of the same.
