As an author, I'm interested to know what readers like you think of the social media/book talk site, BookTok. Do you use this site for book recommendations? If so, what do you think of the books users of this site say are worth a read?

Look forward to hearing what you have to say. Thank you.
Miriam

Shawn McCarthy | 1 comments I've wondered the same thing. There are so many places where authors can get involved if they want to communicate with readers. But not all seem worthwhile. I'll be interested in hearing other answers to about BookTok.

It's a good idea to cast around the Internet and check on any stats you can find on potential book marketing sites. Then decide if the people or groups using those sites are the ones who would appreciate the sort of books you are writing.

Here's what one social media monitoring company had to say about TikTok. (ie., TikTok, not BookTok.)

https://econsultancy.com/social-media...

"What’s more, a recent study found TikTok usage surpassed that of Instagram this year among Gen Z, who find the platform to be more positive versus other social media networks. With 63% of the social app’s users under the age of 30, it will be particularly important for brands looking to engage with Gen Z to be active on the platform if they wish to remain relevant and drive growth in the new year."
