Asa stared at the page. The words were blending together. Again.
Why?
She shook her head, trying to wake herself up again, but couldn't.
Okay, fine.
She curled up in the grass next to the tree, trying hard to ignore the little creatures scurrying around near her.
They weren't important.
Sleep was important.
A strange rumbling noise sounded in the distance, and it struck dread into Asa's heart, but she ignored it.
Sleep.
She needed sleep.
Blackness overtook her and she was falling into a pit. Deeper... deeper... deeper.
Exhaustion pulled her down.
She was asleep.
But she was still falling.
Asa jerked awake when she slammed hard onto the ground.
Cold, rocky ground.
"Owww," she moaned.
Blood pooled in a cut on her arm, and she bit her lip. That was one way to make the sleepiness disappear - dump her into this... what was this place?
There was a long hallway. Stone floors. Torches on the walls.
She was alone.
Asa couldn't help a smile even as her bones ached and sleepiness once again began to pull at her.
She shook her head hard, fighting through the fog.
Was this a hallucination?
Because it certainly didn't feel like it.

Asa fought the sleepiness and reached inside her satchel for the cordial she had been told to use so sparingly. But if her life wasn't in danger now, someone had a very sick sense of humor.
She placed one drop on her tongue and warmth spread through her body before it turned to heat. She felt the fire on the inside and the veil of exhaustion lifted away. She felt clearer than she had in days and the hallucination lurking at the edge of her consciousness disappeared.
Thank you, Hiron.
She took a deep breath and walked down the hallway, examining faded tapestries that hung from the walls. A doorway appeared ahead of her and she walked faster.
She swept through the doorway and stopped so fast she nearly toppled over. Gems. Thousands upon thousands of gems.
She almost choked.
Then she saw the tall red-haired girl sitting in the corner and she did choke.
She tried hard not to scream.
She wanted to run, but she stayed rooted in place, speechless.

Jack followed a wolf into the woods.
"Rain where are you going?"
Jack tripped over something, his eyes opening.
"Rain?.." He'd been sleep walking and now he was lost. There was a castle in front of him, which was odd. He walked in, and looked around.

"Er.. Hello..." the girl said. Asa's heart leapt into her throat.
It talks!
Of course it talks, you daft idiot! IT'S a she!
Asa shook herself.
"Look, I'm not a thief I just, somehow, I don't know, teleported here, okay? I- er- I-I'm looking for my siblings- could you, um.. help me?" the girl muttered all in one breath.
Asa stared, breathless, trying hard to comprehend that a stranger was talking and expected her to answer. She bit her lip.
"I'm... um... lost too. I-I don't think I can help much," she managed to stammer after a moment.

The girl seemed to go into some variety of trance thing for a few seconds before her eyes popped back open and she stared straight at Asa in a gesture that sent chills of fear down her spine. "They're here," she said matter-of-factly.
Asa nodded tentatively.
She wasn't sure if she trusted this girl or not.

The girl muttered something frantically.
Then gems from the walls and floor kind of just... appeared in front of her. And then she was making a cane out of them.
She was struggling to stand.
Despite her intense fear, Asa's heart beat faster with compassion. She understood the crippling panic when you're separated from those you love.
Without a thought, she darted forward and grabbed the girl's arm.
"It's gonna be okay. I don't know how much I can help, but I'll try," she said quietly.
Maybe Hiron was right. Maybe there is some courage left in me after all.

“Th-Thank you...” the girl whispered as she tried to take a few shaky steps. "Amber Kenneth... What-what's your name?"
Asa's heart slowed when she began to realize that this girl was just as scared - if not more so - than herself.
"I'm Asa. Where do you come from?" she asked as she steadied Amber's arm.

Maybe there was a temple nearby, and she could ask for help from those within it-- they may know her "father" as she liked to call him, even though they were not related...He felt like a father to her.
"Greetings" she called out, "is anyone here?"
"Well, it's not here, that's for certain.. I live -lived, I guess- in a place called Faesville.. But now I have no clue where I am. And my sisters probably don't either..." Amber said, her voice trailing off.
Asa could see urgency alight in her eyes.
"What are your sister's names?" she asked, again surprising herself at her own willingness to talk to this stranger.
Amber took a few unsteady steps towards the door, and Asa followed.

The pair set off down the hallway.
"Greetings! Is anyone here?" a voice called weakly.
Amber and Asa jumped in unison, and Asa felt the old fear returning.
"Um... should we answer?" she asked quietly.

A girl appeared around the corner, feeling her way with a cane.
Asa felt guilt roil in her chest. And she'd thought the girl was dangerous. Oh well.
"Of course you should! You see I am very lost...and I don't know where I am..." she exhaled as if to calm herself, "I don't even know where my brother is...My name is Veraly by the way."
Asa sighed. "Yeah. We're lost too. I'm Asa."

Asa sighed. "Yeah. We're lost too. I'm Asa."

"Oh good...So I am not the only one...Do you happen to know where...a temple or monastery is?" she asked and then paused, "I am not particularly religious myself, but a...member of my family is a monk, and my brother is very religious"

Asa decided she was going to let Amber deal with this. The other girl seemed much more socially apt...

"Are you familiar with the name-- Ashalena? I don't know her personally...but she is royalty where I am from..."

She kept wondering how Phoenix might be reacting without her, what if he needed her? Like really needed her? She wouldn't be around to help him...Which made her stressed.

She blushed, realizing that she had disclosed a little bit too much personal information about her family life.

(Also out of character: sorry if I am not giving a whole lot of info on it, I am still creating the religion).

"Well...Um, what now?" she asked. "If I may ask, since I talked so much about my country, what is yours...like?" She felt odder than usual, usually she was able to have a conversation with someone without stuttering-- now she just felt stressed.

She, like many people were not very happy with the way some people handled magic they had never seen before. She wished that these people shared the mindset that her "father" and brother did of peacefully handling magic.

So she began looking around for the other girl (Asa) and calling "is anyone here?" she asked, feeling more scared than she was willing to show.

But she decided she would remain calm, and breathe, and perhaps pretend she was someone else. Someone who knew exactly where they were going, someone who had intended to come here.
"I don't know where Asa is..." she replied softly.

"Do you know if there is a town nearby perhaps?" she asked, trying to get the other girls's attention. "Or a messenger of sorts to deliver letters with?"

She tried to think about her times with Phoenix and other events in her life, to comfort her. She remembered telling stories and reading stories to him when he had was sick. She remembered, her first performance on stage. The energy the sound of laughter and clapping-- it was wonderful.
"Maybe." she said, "I should look to the further past to figure out...What to do..."

(She's twenty-one)

(Yeah weirdly my older characters keep accidentally being in RPs with younger ones. I don't know why that happens. XD)

"Is there anything I can do to help?" Veraly asked the two sisters.

Veraly shook her head, "I don't think I could...sorry." She looked over to one side, and sighed. She wished she could hug Phoenix right now.

"Of course." said Veraly, using her cane to help herself stand up. "Do you know where she was last?"

And as a sister, it was hard not to worry...Though she would like her mind to stop moving. So she tried to focus, focus on her breathing as she walked. And soon her mind became quiet, and she felt calmer.
Quinley wrote: "Veraly, "Maybe once I knew whether it is in my bag or not..." She took her bag and began searching through it, maybe it had been put in there...Finally she found it. "Yes!"
(Yeah weirdly my older ..."
((Haha yeah. In my group I have a 21 year old and a 22 year old with 15,16, and 17 year olds XD)
