Adam Smith (chaos624) | 1197 comments Roland and the Ka-Tet find themselves in a sleepy little farming village known as Calla Bryn Sturgis, a village frequently beset by vicious invaders called Wolves who are determined to steal half the Calla's children and dragged them off into the dark regions of Thunderclap. Called to action, the gunslingers do what gunslingers do best. Deal in lead.

Book 5 of the Dark Tower cycle.

Read for the next book in a series.

Steadily working my way back through the Dark Tower books. I'd completely forgotten how utterly awesome this book actually is. It's a toss up between this and Drawing of the Three for my favourite book of the entire series.

This book doesn't get bogged down in excessive flashbacks or the lengthy build up of waiting to get somewhere, just the pure action of the Wolves are coming, the battle draws near, get to the fighting. A story of gunslinging and the thwarting of evil.

A very fun ride.

Misty | 1489 comments The Drawing of the Three is definitely my favorite of the series, but I really enjoyed this one as well. There is a sinister thread that weaves its way through the book, and I loved every minute of it.

Sydney (sydinreallife) | 41 comments I completely agree with you both. These books are both fantastic. I also really enjoyed Wizard and Glass though it was very sad.

A lot of people didn't care for Wizard and Glass, but I am not one of them. I really enjoyed it. Yes, it is a different vibe than a lot of the books, but I liked the change of pace. You know something BAD is going to happen for the whole book, but I found myself really wishing it wouldn't! LOL.
