Becky Stains | 15 comments Hi team sequel!
This is my first time joining a challenge also!
I’m going for as many points as possible but just looking over the titles in my TBR list there’s a good possibility I’ll be able to get 2 point but aiming for more. I have never played scattergories but I think I’m understanding this round. I’ll just read a book starting with as many same letters in the title from what ever letter is given. I’m guessing subtitles are out. We could probably get a load of points with subtitles 😁

Yannick Tricia | 53 comments Hello team!
This first round doesn't seem easy. I don't have any idea for the moment. I read The Moonlight School by Suzanne Woods Fisher last year, it's a great book!

message 9: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Osborn | 35 comments I haven’t chosen a book yet because I’m just finishing another but I’ve been looking for one! Do I just post here once I’ve chosen one?

This round is Animal, so the title doesn't apply. You need to read a book that has an animal mentioned in it starting with P (i.e. pig, pony, poodle, pug, pit bull, etc.) If you can find one with multiple P's, it'll be worth more points (i.e. "her poodle, named Peaches" [2 points], "He got her a pinto pony, named peaches" [3 points]

Notice

If you have a team member that didn't check in or finish a book for a round, someone else on the team may post an extra book to fill in for them.

Preference is for each member to read their own (1) book, but life happens and sometimes someone can't read as expected.

Yes, I think we post ideas and our chosen books here. Then when we have finished the book we post it on the 'Team Sequel Round' thread.

Rachel | 64 comments I'm going to read
Far Side of the Sea by Kate Breslin
It has a pigeon in it.

message 16: by Yannick Tricia (last edited Jan 22, 2022 02:50PM) (new)

Yannick Tricia | 53 comments I am going to read Santa's Little Yelpers (Paws by the Beach #2.5) by H.Y. Hanna
There is a Puppy in the book.

message 17: by Becky (new)

Becky Stains | 15 comments Ah thanks for the info Melaine!
I think I'm going to take the easy route and read Mr. Popper's Penguins. I'll try to keep in mind a penguin with a P name!
I've started the book Room-maid by Sariah Wilson which has a dog named Pigeon but I just am not that into it as of now.
Or i might take one of these suggestions!

message 18: by Yannick Tricia (new)

Yannick Tricia | 53 comments Great! It's a good idea Rachel.
Melanie has posted the letter for the next round: S and the category is: secondary female character.

Megan (celtic_girl) | 6323 comments Mod
The book I read today had a secondary female character with a S name and I posted it. Hoping I read a different book that is worth more, since this was only 1 point, so I can swap it. :)

message 25: by Yannick Tricia (last edited Feb 05, 2022 01:43PM) (new)

Yannick Tricia | 53 comments I think I am going to read Keturah (The Sugar Baron's Daughters, #1) by Lisa Tawn Bergren Keturah. If someone is looking for a book there is this one: To Whisper Her Name (Belle Meade Plantation, #1) by Tamera Alexander . There are two characters with a name starting with an S.

message 26: by Becky (new)

Becky Stains | 15 comments Anybody have any suggestions for the second female with S name? I’ve been reading Harry Pottery(not my usual genre) and it’s sooo long that all my time has been spent in that book. I’ll have to read fast.

I've just finished A Change of Fortune, character is Salice Southmoor. I don't think there is any rule against team members reading the same book for a round.

message 28: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 64 comments Some other suggestions:
Beyond All Dreams - Sarah Starling
Far Side of the Sea - Miss Simmons
To Steal a Heart - Mrs Sampson
The Forgotten Recipe - Sarah

message 30: by Yannick Tricia (last edited Feb 19, 2022 04:07PM) (new)

Becky Stains | 15 comments Just finished reading:
Afraid of All the Things: Tornadoes, Cancer, Adoption, and Other Stuff You Need the Gospel For
BY: SCARLET HILTIBIDAL
That book was so good!! It’s only 3 points so I’m still looking for more points.

message 33: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 64 comments No problem.

That's great Becky!

message 34: by Keri E. (new)

Keri E. (kewaites) | 56 comments Hi everyone! I apologise for not participating in this so far. I honestly simply forgot about it and for some reason I thought about it tonight. Again, I’m so sorry! After a discussion at church today, I, ironically, was planning to reread the Anne of Green Gables series. I plan to start the first audiobook tomorrow at work and I’d have it finished by the end the round.

message 35: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 64 comments No worries Keri! I love the Anne of Green Gables series:)

message 36: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 64 comments I've posted my book and a backup for this round.
