I really liked the "perfectly proper" -- as I recall, I read the four that were out at the time nearly back to back.

I was unfamiliar with your last three picks (and I admit, attracted by that flurry of color) -- what a contrast with the Asimov! You'll have good reading in February, methinks.

I hope for a good month of reading. Trying to get some old romances off the TBR. Looking forward to Asimov to counteract the overdose of contemporary romance.

Carolien (carolien_s) | 505 comments I've finished The Henna Artist (The Henna Artist, #1) by Alka Joshi as a buddy read with Lea and Alissa. Lovely characters.

message 31: by Amy (new)

Amy D. | 171 comments I'm listening to the audio book of Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of Death (Agatha Raisin, #1) by M.C. Beaton , which is indeed this rusty pinkish color. I've read a few of the later Agatha Raisin books (in addition to .5, which is before this one, which is #1), so it's nice to get back to the beginning for the introduction of the characters. They are fun audio books for a commute.

I enjoyed Hooks can be deceiving. The mystery wasn't the strongest, but I liked the characters and the crochet stuff.

I liked the first 20 or so of that series. The older Beaton got the more they felt phoned in. But I'll finish it because I only have two or so left - same with Hamish. :)

Well, after being out all month with covid that turned into pneumonia, I'm just able to read again. I finished Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby . A strong 5 star book. This book really opened my eyes on issues within the LGBTQ community that i honestly didn't know. Not only is the story a good one, i feel like i learned something.

Thanks Delsey. I am doing better. My lungs are back clear which is a huge relief. Docs said it will take awhile for them to fully heal so don't plan on running any races anytime soon. 🤣🤣 I said thats fine, i have a ton of books to catch up on!!

Thanks Martha! Yes, you know it's bad when you don't even want to read. My husband said that's the longest time he's ever seen me not have a book in my hands.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 800 comments Glad your lungs are clear, and at least you have to rest, which means more reading time.

Glad to hear you are recovering. Several people I know have the lingering cough. Think positive and take the time to enjoy a good book (or 4) and a hot cup of tea/coffee, both can work wonders on your time recovery.

well I finished and enjoyed Hooks can be deceiving. I am into crochet right now, so fun characters, crochet, and a nice setting made this a great travel cozy. I didn't finish Arsenic in the Azaleas before it returned itself (kindle) and I wasn't liking it enough to put it on hold again, so that one is a dnf.

I'm adding Hooks Can Be Deceiving as I love crochet as well. Sorry your other book was a dud.
