Jeff Rosen | 104 comments Starting re-reading this one last week (got it last year). Just as good, or even better. The characters are believable, story is great. The closer I get to the end, slower I read it as don't want it to ever end!

That’s a good book!

would love to see it as a movie, but love the flow of the book between past and present

Jeff Rosen | 104 comments seems work is underway to turn it into a movie

I hope they don’t screw it up.

Jeff Rosen | 104 comments Can't see how it will be as good. A movie won't be able to cover 300 years. However really want to see how Addie looks (and remember it!)

This is true.

Jeff Rosen | 104 comments wonder who would play Addie in a movie?

The book didn't really cover 300 years either, frankly. There was a lot of her early life and a lot of present day, but not much in between.

Jeff Rosen | 104 comments not accurate, first 100 years they visit a couple times every few decades and go into 1700s and 1800s, early 1900s, 1960s and 70s. Some are entire chapters, some brief mentions

Ryan Dash (ryandash) | 7 comments Right, and it's the brief mentions which make me say it doesn't really cover the whole 300 years. Cameos in books could translate reasonably well to cameos on screen, I would think.

Jeff Rosen | 104 comments hardly brief mentions, chapters devoted to the following years. By stretching it out, Addie gradually learns more about Luc

Ryan Dash (ryandash) | 7 comments Alright, let me clarify. It's been a while since I read it. If I recall correctly, all those chapters (which are generally quite short) don't depend very much on the setting. They might have a couple paragraphs of description but the focus is more on the interactions between Addie and Luc. Thus the setting would not be so important in a movie, either, just a sense of time passing, which could be done any number of ways.

Jeff Rosen | 104 comments suggest a re-read...good part of 1700s spent in France
