Frank Socha (franksforeword) | 8 comments Hi all! Let me preface this discussion with how much I loved this book! I must say, I like it so much more than the first one! I think I’d like to start the discussion with one of the things I liked about the book and one thing I disliked and then roll from there.

Liked: the plot for so much thicker! I love how Kerri went into so much Lore of how the realm was developed into the seven kingdoms of hell. I think, too, the book really dives more into Emilia and her lineage, and expands her character development even more!

Disliked: ummmmm is anyone else wondering why these “demons” of hell aren’t more….well, demon. I WANT TO BE SCARED OF THEM. I WANT THEM TO EXUDE FEAR. And instead I find myself wanting to sleep with them…ugh. Demons should be demonic. IMO.

Thoughts??

Amtal (taylor's version) | 178 comments Ooh yes I absolutely loved the plot, the romance and the fanart.

Frank Socha (franksforeword) | 8 comments Also don’t get me wrong. I LOVE the demon princes. So much. #teamwrath I just wish they established more of a demonic prowess. They kinda just seem like hot, powerful, rich dudes.

Anna | 14 comments I completely agree! Honestly I was a little confused at the end of the first book, but this book cleared a lot up. Although I still think going through all this for revenge is a bit extreme.
I also agree about how the demons in hell are just, rich guys and even Emilia lowkey isn’t scared of any of them anymore.
Overall though I really enjoyed reading the book and can’t wait for the next one to come out!

Frank Socha (franksforeword) | 8 comments You bring up a good point. Emilia is BOLD with these princes. She isn’t afraid to look down on them or put them in their place. She says and does everything as if there will be no consequences. And yet, the princes allow it (for the most part).

Sara Buklis | 9 comments So far I am really enjoying this series. I did love this book more then the first. I think this world Kerri built is really neat. I like the seven deadly sins as the rulers of her underworld, but I agree they should be more Demon like. She's definitely very brave around them but I mean she is a witch. Overall, it's really good can't wait for the next one!

Frank Socha (franksforeword) | 8 comments Absolutely, and I think it’s stands to reason she’s a pretty good witch at that. I’ll be curious to see if she has to use a bit more of it in the next book. She hasn’t had to really defend herself at all, and I’m thinking she may need to soon! Here’s a question: at what point did you realize who the real Devil was?

Sara Buklis | 9 comments Yes! I would love to see some witchy hocus pocus shenanigans go down. So, I always hoped he was the devil, but I think I felt confident he was when the "devil" showed up at the party and his face was scared. I thought wrath the ruler of war would definitely have a few scars.

Frank Socha (franksforeword) | 8 comments Ooooo good point I didn’t think of that! I think for me I had the hunch as soon as they arrived to the kingdom. Wrath didn’t take her to Pride right away and I was like huh, I’d think the literal devil would want his wife immediately/a lesser demon prince would take her right away.

Dhwani :) (dhwaniix) | 1 comments Gosh I loved this book. I finished it a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely cannot wait for the next. And to be very honest, i was a bit confused at the end of the 1st book and the 2nd one was definitely so much better than the first, in my opinion. I kinda had a feeling that Wrath was the King and not Pride and OMG I just love him so much! I’m definitely going to get a SAMAEL tattoo. I HAVE LOST MY MIND.

Shauna (playreadbehappy) | 3 comments These books are so fun. And yes, not scared of these demons at all.

I think what makes the characters so compelling though is the fact that they are so similar to the "sins" in real life. Emilia is able to show how most people don't even notice the influence of things like pride or greed or envy until after whatever they have done under the influence of those emotions. I think the author is able to demonstrate how difficult it is to find a place that is free of these influences and thats (IMO) what makes them so scary.
