What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

The book would be AT LEAST 16 years old or older because i read it when i was a kid so kind of an older one

Oh yeah i forgot to add a few more details 😁 so i read it when i was in grade 4-5 and i got it from my school library so it must be something YA or suitable for children. As i mentioned earlier that was around 16 years ago that i remember reading it but ai can’t remember if it was an older book when I read it at the time, definitely not a new release I think considering it was at my school library. I would say it was Sci-fi but i found it creeped me out although not sure if that’s because i was a kid at the time. The length would be on the shorter-medium size, maybe around 200-300 pages?? But the main part of it that i remember were the shadows they would see at the edge of their vision but whenever the looked nothing was there. The main characters were also in school and the narrator was the male lead and there was a supporting main who was a girl who I think was a dancer or a ballerina? I think it switched to her Pov as well but I’m not 100%. I think it had something to do with a video game they were playing that was ‘leaking’ into the real world.

Were the boy and girl high school age?

I wish i could remember. I think they were most likely but I can’t be sure. There were scenes where the makn male protag was sitting at his desk in class and wasn’t able to concentrate because he kept seeing moving shadow shapes out of the corner of his eyes
