If you like your life stories honest, authentic, and downright bawdy, then this is the book for you. If you are familiar with Miriam Margolyes, especially her interviews on Graham Norton, as you would probably expect, this book is as unfiltered as her publishers lawyers would legally allow.

The language is colourful, the tales entertainingly laugh out loud funny, her name dropping legendary, and her dubious, self-proclaimed skill with men, vulgar to the extreme. If you are in any way prudish, please stay well clear of this book.

This very talented actress, voice over artist, and raconteur, has led a very unconventional life, and doesn’t try to sugar coat it. She shows herself warts and all. She speaks eloquently of her Jewish upbringing, her lesbianism, her experiences in the acting profession, and even dips into politics. She speaks lovingly of her friends, and expresses her admiration for some of those in the industry that she has worked with. However, she is equally as barbed with those that have crossed or upset her, including some highly regarded members of the Cambridge Footlights.

Highly entertaining, totally outrageous, this is the extraordinary life of an amazing woman.
