There are a number of islands - the one I immediately think of is the Falkland Islands.

Falklands for sure!
WHAT?! You are not allowing the UK to count as a northern hemisphere country????!
Would a book set in NYC & NY state be ok for northern hemisphere?
I am planning a book set in Australia for Southern Hemisphere, please tell me that's ok!

It's in the list as "mostly" Northern Hemisphere, along with France, which means they can't be used.
On the other hand, some of the UK "territories" like the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are listed as entirely, so presumably books set on those could be used? For example Aunt Bessie Assumes, which is set on the Isle of Man?

Trish is correct.
Any country/territory/place listed as "entirely" may be used.
Partly and Mostly are excluded.

The first page reviews would work to establish the setting

Thank you :)

Sisters of the Southern Cross
(kindle edition 264 pages)
but the paperback edition on GR doesn't have a page count.
Here's the link to the paperback on Amazon
(amazon paperback link - https://www.amazon.com/Sisters-Southe...
which shows it as 268 pages.
Can I get it approved for length here or is there another route that I need to travel? Maybe a GR librarian can help me?

It's correct now, but in the future ask for help from a librarian

Thank you. Sorry for the trouble. :-)

I'm thinking of a book that is mostly in California USA, but has a few scenes in Mexico.

"set at least 50% in a country" works
