I had such high hopes for this book series by Dan Wells. The John Cleaver series my link text started off really strong in the beginning of book one. I loved the writing style and how the author was able to make John such a unique character without making it seem like he was trying too hard.
By the end of the book I was saddened that it took a different turn than expected. I'm all for plot twists I like unpredictability but I like realism even more. The second book is a good comeback but from there the rest of the series feels dragged out and forced. There are other books by Dan Wells so maybe it'll be worth checking those out but if you are into crime/psychological thrillers this probably won't cut it for you.
