D.C. | 4 comments KDP is very easy. Once your manuscript is ready to go--proofed, edited, formatted--go to the function on Amazon and follow the steps. There is a formatting guide.

It's not necessarily "better" than a selective publishing house, for a number of reasons, but it's definitely better than any of the options you have to pay up front for, and it's much easier to use than Smashwords.

There is a "Cover Creator" function which isn't bad, although I recommend using your own images. Check out Pixabay. It's got oodles of commercially licensed freebies. I use Canve for my self-pubbed covers, because I don't have PhotoShop on my main computer, and Canva is definitely easier to use.

Justin (justinbienvenue) I have one book enrolled in KDP and I'm not a fan of it. However, seeing as my first books been out for a few years and has been re-done I figured I would have it on KDP in case I wish to run specials and what not. Again not a fan of it but it works when you really want to do something special for your book and you want to get some serious readers.
