Okay, I loved this book. It had me cheese’n and giggling whenever the main characters interacted …. but it was so slow at first oh my god. It look me literally two weeks to read this, which is absurd. There were so many siblings and so many names for each person and that took me such a long time to get a hang of. The slow burn destroyed my soul and put me in a bad mood for the whole book but it was worth it in the end. Vanya made up for it😩❤️
The pacing of this book was very similar to The Wall of Winnipeg (and that book had me kicking and screaming in anger), but it was so much more tolerable. I fell for Ivan Lukov so fast; he is a dream and you can tell he really cared for jasmine throughout the book. Although, It was quite painful just watching Her ignore his kindness for so long . She just couldn’t give up the banter ig (which I loved too).
The way he would always stand up for her. 😍The scenes with her dad and Paul had me weak. What can’t he do? Ugggghhhh. Something about a Russian man with a pig and bedazzled French Bulldog. His little rescue animals were such a surprise but it just solidified just how much of an amazing person he was.
I enjoyed watching Jas change and grow as well. You can tell she became more accepting and proud of herself. She never let anyone scare her away from her dreams and I love her for that. She’s a determined queen and she kept her fiery streak.
I was so proud of them for winning worlds at the end! It really had me tearing up knowing they came so far and worked so hard.
I had to look up a lot of figure skating terms and watch YouTube videos to get an idea of what was happening because I had no idea most of the time. When I looked up what they were doing for the photo shoot though…😶 Anyways I need an Ivan POV.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this read. I would recommend it as a good enemies to lovers type of book. I loved that they never stopped the banter and playful arguing even after they were together. The only problem I had with this book was how long it stretched on, but I guess that’s personal preference.
Satan and Meatball forever❤️
I 1000% agree with your review. I thought the pacing was pretty good, but Vanya has my whole heart ❤️
