Zoiy Galloay (zoiygalloay) Hello, I need help deciding which subtitle to use for my book. The book is called "Erudition."

1. Erudition: Search for the Truth Within
2. Erudition: The Search for the Truth

Explanation:
1. Erudition: Search for the Truth Within plays with the word. Like in "search for the truth within the book." Also because in the book the protagonist is trying to find answers within herself, instead of the corrupt authority and what they falsely want her to believe.

2. Erudition: The Search for the Truth: The series is about "the Search for the Truth," of history that's been destroyed or hidden, in addition to the aforementioned.

Or I could also look at it as:

Should the series be 1." Search for the Truth Within Series"
or 2. "The Search for the Truth Series"

Shruzzz | 25 comments Yeah I like the 2nd one too mostly because it makes the title sound more adventurous

A.Akhtar | 23 comments I like the second one as well, and my friend said that "The truth we search for" might work well, depending on what the books on.

it'sSid (youdontwannaknow) The search for truth, that is really cool, already can't wait to see what you come up with

anna marlene | 22 comments I prefer the 1st, it sounds more poetic. 'The truth we search for' is amazing as well.

Caroline (chronicbibliophile) I like the first as well and the 'truth we search for' is cool

Stormraised | 71 comments First, preposition of the and makes title more interesting and original. Or "truth we search for" as others suggested.
'The Search for the Truth' sound quite literally uninspired. Imagine Collins naming second volume of her famous trilogy "Fight on the Arena" instead or "Catching Fire". Think about some metaphor or play with words.

Or, for the other side, maybe just "The Truth (Within)". Simple and expressive.

Let us know, what you finally decide! And what the book is about :)

Zoiy Galloay (zoiygalloay) Thanks Stormraised, it give me another perspective to think about.

The truth we search for doesn’t quite work for the story.
What about Searching for the Truth or Searching for the Truth Within

I think that 'Searching for the Truth (Within)' is better, but still to literally. I would replace "searching" with some more interesting, inobvious verb... maybe hunting or chasing?

Maybe give some plot description, so we will know what should the titles atmosphere be like? Or at least genre, something about book spirit.

I say the search for the truth. The other one seems too long to be catchy and I'd pick up the other one if I saw it

SJ | 62 comments I’d say searching for the truth or the search for the truth. If you want to have the within part, I think it’s more catchy if you take away the word the and have the search for truth within instead of the search for the truth within.
