Obscure Books Dig through your bookshelves and unearth some arcana. Or seek out an underappreciated classic and shed some light on it!

Some examples:
Hero of Dreams by Brian Lumley The Throne of Bones by Brian McNaughton Morigu The Desecration (Morigu, #1) by Mark C. Perry Engor's Sword Arm by David C. Smith

Mary Catelli | 968 comments Some modern day obscure books. By Moe Lane. High fantasy in a post-apocalyptic North America!

Frozen Dreams is also a hard-boiled detective story, which makes it odd-ball.

Shadow of the Tower is a series of fantasy adventures throughout the centuries, some very much sword & sorcery, others less typically so.

Morgan Barod is nearly immediately post-apocalyptic -- seven years -- and still sorting out magic, but there's monsters and perils and an adventurer venturing through it all.

I'm not sure it's entirely obscure, but this seemed like a good opportunity to go back into William King's now-lengthy self-published series of novels about Kormak the Guardian -- currently reading the second, Defiler of Tombs, and it has a pleasantly old-school feel to it.

I am going to read Ambush Planet by E. Rew Bixby. I read this book when it came out and all I remember is the hero had red hair. So maybe a reread is required.
