Play Book Tag discussion

This memoir is written in the form of a memoir to the author’s teenage son, and focuses on the author’s perspective of what it means to be a black man in the United States. The author’s voice was distinctive, and he opened my eyes to thoughts and feelings that I hadn’t thought about before. Coates read the audio version for this book, and I felt that hearing the words read in the author’s own voice made what he was saying even more powerful.
