What did you think f this months book club pick?

This book blew my socks off, what a surprising read. I found Delia Owens words extremely emotive and captivating. Many times reading this I stopped to admire a few sentences, she created such beautiful descriptions and heartbreaking imagery.

I’m not sure where to being with this plot, I was slightly dreading it would be a ‘man cheats on wife and secret mistress murders him’ vibe but it was far from a typical boring story.

Oh I loved this book. I really enjoyed how the story was written, waiting for the timelines to merge. Being a nature lover I was quickly transported to the Marsh, and at times could almost here the sounds.
The girls story though, wow, it made me cry, all that this one little girl could achieve when sometimes adults don’t manage this...and the reality that this is just a story and actually there is frequently little support available, and how this mirrored how adults can be very judgemental and cruel to our fellow humans.

A fantastic read that touched my soul 💚 it not only entertained but reminded me to live by values; kindness and understanding always.
