NOMINATIONS for BOTM May 2022 - LGBTQ+

Anne Shaw's novel "The Mischievous Marquess"
Cooper Davis's novel "A Gentleman Revealed"

I thought so too. It was supposed to be enemies to Lovers for May.

Mods, do you want us to change our noms? Or maybe swap May and June over?
BTW @jenny867, if we do go with May for LGBQT+ sorry but I think your nom won't work because May 24th won't leave people enough time to read it. Just my opinion.

I am good with just switching the months and keeping May as LGBTQ+. I can update the trope thread.
Susan, are you good with that?

Yes I am good with that!! Sorry for the confusion everyone. I am trying to get my head around all the different things that Joanna and Sam have been doing so well.

It’s not easy when you start doing something new Susan. All Will turns out okay in the end. 👍

It is LGBTQ+ that we are nominating now. Thanks!

Thank you Susan! I am so grateful for the help. It takes a bit to get used to it all.

I nominate:
The Care and Feeding of Waspish Widows by Olivia Waite - this is an f/f story. I really enjoyed the historical context of it.
King's Man by Sally Malcolm - m/m, have not read but have heard good things
Novella - The Companion by E.E. Ottoman - trans characters, 1940’s setting. Enjoyed the read.

So, I´m afraid this is not my usual reading so I´m a little lost in the nominations chapter about LGBTQ but this two were in my TBR:
Provoked by Joanna Chambers
The Soldier's Scoundrel by Cat Sebastian

The Soldier's Scoundrel by Cat Sebastian

A Lady for a Duke by Alexis Hall
I'm super excited about this book because I've loved the books I've read so far by this author. Unfortunately, this one won't be released until May 24th so I totally understand if that makes it ineligible to nominate. The book has a trans heroine who takes advantage of being presumed dead at Waterloo to begin a new life as her true gender. The hero is a childhood friend who was also at Waterloo and is struggling with coming to terms with the death of his friend as well as his injuries/memories of war.
The Gladiator's Master by Fae Sutherland and Marguerite Labbe
I don't know much about this book other than it caught my eye and it would count for Across the Ages (Ancient World/Prehistorical).
Novella: The Lion and the Crow by Eli Easton

Provoked by Joanna Chambers
[b..."
These are both excellent! Although I will warn that Provoked reads like a serial, and I don't recall if it had its own HFN.

Nominations for LGBTQ+
She Whom I Love by Tess Bowery
Provoked by Joanna Chambers
The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee
King's Man by Sally Malcolm
A Gentleman never keeps Score by Cat Sebastian
The Soldier's Scoundrel by Cat Sebastian
Unmasked by the Marquess by Cat Sebastian
Kindred Hearts by Rowan Speedwell
The Gladiator's Master by Fae Sutherland and Marguerite Labbe
The Care and Feeding of Waspish Widows by Olivia Waite
Novellas:
The Lion and the Crow by Eli Easton
The Companion by E.E. Ottoman
The Mischievous Marquess by Anne Shaw
Not Included:
A Lady for a Duke by Alexis Hall - because not released yet. Note for future, it's best if nominations are already released at the time of nominating because publishing dates have been shifting quite a bit lately, so it likely would not have been a good fit for June either.
Pembroke Park by Michelle Martin - no reasonably priced option. Was a couple hundred dollars on Amazon and AbeBooks. Would be interesting though considering it was published in 1986! I went ahead and kept She Whom I Love in the mix since it was the original nomination.
