Piper Bellinger is fashionable, influential, and her reputation as a wild child means the paparazzi are constantly on her heels. When too much champagne and an out-of-control rooftop party lands Piper in the slammer, her stepfather decides enough is enough. So he cuts her off, and sends Piper and her sister to learn some responsibility running their late father’s dive bar... in Washington.

Piper hasn’t even been in Westport for five minutes when she meets big, bearded sea captain Brendan, who thinks she won’t last a week outside of Beverly Hills. So what if Piper can’t do math, and the idea of sleeping in a shabby apartment with bunk beds gives her hives. How bad could it really be? She’s determined to show her stepfather—and the hot, grumpy local—that she’s more than a pretty face.

Except it’s a small town and everywhere she turns, she bumps into Brendan. The fun-loving socialite and the gruff fisherman are polar opposites, but there’s an undeniable attraction simmering between them. Piper doesn’t want any distractions, especially feelings for a man who sails off into the sunset for weeks at a time. Yet as she reconnects with her past and begins to feel at home in Westport, Piper starts to wonder if the cold, glamorous life she knew is what she truly wants. LA is calling her name, but Brendan—and this town full of memories—may have already caught her heart.

(view spoiler)[I have enjoyed the beginning. Familiar story where a spoiled young woman has to start to work for living to prove how she can do it. But still. This has been fun, even though Piper is soo extreme. I like her sister!! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I love how Brendan is grumpy but kind at the same time. I hate characters that are just grumpy without showing some kind of kindness. Those can also be just jerks so I don't like how those always suddenly revealed to be awesome. In real life they propably are just jerks. (view spoiler)[ I really loved this book! It was more 4.5 stars for me but i still loved it! The way Brendan was willing to move closer to LA for her was everything!!!!
I still think what Mick said to Piper was just not right but he is probably still trying to mourn his daughter and get over the fact that things are moving on without her, so i do feel sorry for him as well!
I can't wait for Hannah and Fox's story to come out!! Would anyone like to BR that when it comes out? (hide spoiler)]

Up to ch5. Liking the start. Thought Piper would be a spoiled brat but there’s signs she’s not as vapid as she likes to appear.

Up to ch14. There’s a slowly developing sense of depth to this. The place is a grower and the love they show each other is quite unlike what many experience.

There are signs from early on that Piper is not as shallow as she first appears. Can't believe I didn't spot there's a sequel...had to get it on Kindle but up for a BR.

Yeah i think that's why it was more a 4.5 than a 5 stars for me but still enjoyed! I'm hoping to get the paperback when it comes out in mid April so maybe we could BR it sometime then!

(view spoiler)[I especially loved the beginning but for me Brendan was suddenly a bit too in to her, it felt so insta-love and it was. At the last pages they had know each other five weeks and they even started to talk about children. First time when Piper asked about it she said how Brendan had given some signs like he would want them and I was like "what signs, when??" XD I don't like when characters who are almost strangers act like they would and should know everything about the other. But well. This was still overall cute story and there were several scenes that made me laugh at the beginning! (hide spoiler)]

Ch 1-8 (view spoiler)[ Piper has grown up with everything at her fingertips, but she does seem like a good person and gets lonely sometimes. She needs a purpose and maybe working on the bar will give her one.

Brendan is being a bit too mean and I think he's realizing that he may have judged Piper too harshly. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 9-16 (view spoiler)[ I love that Brendan is helping the sisters with the bar. And that Piper and Hannah are growing closer to Opal and liking the town.

That date was steamy, whew! Sad that he has to leave now, but what a way to go off to sea lol (hide spoiler)]

Ch 17-24 (view spoiler)[ I didn't realize how lucrative crab fishing is, though for such a dangerous job it makes sense. I love seeing them fall in love and Brendan is so cute for wanting to give Piper everything. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 25-End (view spoiler)[ Of course they fight, he thinks she didn't show up to the dock because she wants to leave, and she leaves because she thinks he's given up on her.

I also think it was kind of shitty that no one in town called the sisters to let them know about the oil rig fire. I get that they might have thought the girls knew, but really?

I'm glad it worked out between them and thought this was a pretty cute story (hide spoiler)]
