Logan | 14 comments Waiting for Godot is a play by Samuel Beckett that only has a total 5 characters. It is by Samuel Beckett and the main characters are named Vladimir and Estragon, two friends. The same events on the play occur over and over again as Vladimir has been told someone named Godot would wait for him. They waited for days on end taking the same actions taking their hats off and swapping them and Estragon dealing with the pain in his foot. The play is very linear until two characters Pozzo and Lucky stop who change over time. Pozzo treats lucky like a slave.
They move on with their lives while the others do not.
Vladimir and Estragon ponder upon the same things get into fights and never find out who Godot is. They do not try to leave their situation staying outside all day listening to each other, but fail to recognize their surroundings. Although the play is very repetitive, in the end they do not find meaning in their life and fail to realize the reason they left home
