Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments So yeah. I thought I had a pretty good handle on all of the series I've started and would like to continue eventually... But I started trying ticking off in my head what I have going on and it's too much to keep a mental track of. So here we are with another challenge :)

This is pretty complete to my knowledge, but I'll probably pretty it up later.
Edit: Using this spreadsheet that I templated off of Iain's spread sheet 😅https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments I have 3 categories for continuing series based on priority and when's the last time I touched them. Mostly divided at the 5 year mark..

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments Im not including short stories in determining if somwthing is up to date cuz thats too much to keep track of

I have a spreadsheet tracking literally like 1000 series (ok, 599)... at some point I revamped it so short stories are just a checkmark for existing... some series generate too many short stories to keep up with tracking, nevermind reading...

It's grown more sophisticated over the years, as I learned more spreadsheet tricks, working on the Competition sheet...

It's accurate through the end of 2021: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

I'm pretty big into conditionally formatted, automatic color coding...

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments oooooh so nice! I might end up having to do something like that cuz that will be much easier to track than a goodreads post lol

originally, I tried to maintain a half dozen tabs, but it was such a hassle moving books between tabs when I caught up on something...

Then I learned about queries and filters... so now there's a Master Series List, and the other 5 lists are populated based on series progress in the Incomplete/UTD/etc column...

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments Well that's handy! I have some excel/sheets skills, but I haven't gotten into all that..
Now that I'm thinking of it, it probably would have come in handy for my thesis when I was managing large data sets lol

For sure… sheets/excel have tons of useful tools to collect, sort, and process data… it’s just a matter of knowing what is possible…

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments Iain, do you mind if I make a copy of the spreadsheet to edit for my own tracking?
