Thoughts?

Brittin (brittsc) | 40 comments Just finished this and am going to be reeling for a bit. I found it very powerful! It is a beautifully written treatise on faith, family, dealing with loss, and love. Tahir includes a note at the start to warn readers about potentially triggering content, and also has a list of resources in the back. It's early in the year, but I could see this one getting some attention come award season.

Mandy (mandysouthgate) Absolutely agree with you Brittin. What an astonishing, moving, beautiful book. Three stories, expertly woven together, to tell a tale of pain, harm, loss, suffering and redemption.

Noor and Salahudin's story will stay with me for a long, long time.

I do think this is reward material. This contemporary novel takes us to Pakistan and the edge of the Mojave desert, telling different stories about the experiences of immigrants to the States and the desires alternatively to lose or retain one's culture. Foods, aromas and the odd cup of chai round off a rich and vibrant experience.

Britt Buckenroth | 11 comments I concur with all of thee above! The powerful storytelling is so captivating and will stay with me.

Heather | 50 comments Really fantastic characters, beautiful writing, symbolism--this one has it all. I also think it's a serious contender!

Kelly | 10 comments This was such a beautifully written and moving novel. I loved the development of each character's story and how Tahir wove them together. A must read and definitely at the top of my list.

Rachael | 1 comments We are nearing the end of the year and I think this book has remained my favorite.

Cathy | 27 comments Sorry it's taken me a while to get to this. All My Rage is probably my favorite book--not YA book, just BOOK--of the year. It never registered what an amazing author Tahir is from reading her fantasies; this is layered and powerful, the kind of book you want to reach into and SHAKE those kids saying, "Don't you know what will happen if you do that??????"--but realizing they don't know, they're teenagers. I love that the author includes Misbah's voice throughout, where a lesser author might have let her fade out after her death. I've been giving my opinion since I first read this in the spring that it WILL win the Printz. I've read some close contenders, but my vote stands.
