Tired and busy but okay. How are you?

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 70 comments Same here, Lauren! But it's better to be busy than bored! My wip is nearly finished and I just need to knuckle down and ignore all the interruptions.

And you, Dan?

Hi all. "Tired and busy" describes it! I've had a year-long sabbatical from writing and promoting, but am keen to get back into it, other interruptions permitting. Hope to see more of you all in future!

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 70 comments Good to see you back, Steve. Interruptions! Don't mention that terrible word! They slow us all down.

Thanks Anna. If anyone has any tips on how to get back into the flow of writing after a year's absence, I'm all ears!

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 70 comments 1. Make space in your diary and label it writing - 5 times a week.

2. (Um... anybody got a 2?

2. Start with something light, short, or fun to get you back into the swing of it.

3. Anyone?

Good suggestions! I’m trying to get back into my writing as well after a couple of years. Rereading and editing one of my old projects has been helpful. It wasn’t as a bad as what I feared it had been when I left it. Lol!

Great tips! Thank you all for sharing those. Anna, my problem is that my daytime job doesn't allow me any writing time during the week, but I get the spirit of what you're saying: for me it would be a return to my sacrosanct Saturday "writing day" when everyone in the family knows not to disturb me!

Lauren I appreciate your idea too: I do actually have the makings of a novella which would make a good starting point along the lines you suggest. That also ties in with what you said, Lara.

Many thanks! You've encouraged me to make a start. Lara, I wish you success getting back into your writing as well.

The Lord bless and inspire all our typing fingers!
