Hi all, I recently sent out a message asking for help adding books that were mentioned on the podcast to the group's bookshelf. I was looking around and it turns out you don't need to be a moderator to do this.
It looks like you can't do this on the phone app so you'll need to log in to Goodreads on a computer. Steps: 1) Listen to a Radio War Nerd podcast episode and note down any books mentioned and the specific episode number. 2) Navigate to the War Nerd Reading List group and click on Bookshelf on the top right. 3) There's a search box on the top left that says "add books" above it. Search for the title mentioned on the podcast. 4) Look for the specific book mentioned. Make sure it's by the right author and then click on the "Add to Group" button. 5) Click on "choose shelves". There will be a list of the podcast episodes in numerical order and a very short description. Check the box for the correct episode. 6) If the episode isn't listed, scroll to the very bottom of the episode list. In the "New shelf" text box, type in the episode number and a short description, in the format XXXX-short-episode-title where XXXX is the episode number and the episode title is the primary topic of the episode. Click "Save". 7) Click "close" on the top right and then the "Save Group book" button on the bottom left. 8) Thank you for your service.
