It was the basis for the 1969 film of the same name starring Anthony Quinn & Anna Magnani.

It's actually the first book in a two part series, with the second book to be published later this year. There is also a stand-alone short story prequel.

Sarah-Hope | 55 comments Really enjoyed Fifty-Four Pigs: A Dr. Bannerman Vet Mystery Fifty-Four Pigs A Dr. Bannerman Vet Mystery by Philipp Schott , the first volume in a new mystery series featuring a rural Canadian veterinarian as the "detective." A great cast of characters and solid plotting.
