I think this is the key. It would have to be pretty expensive, I think, because some of the coolest parts of the whole experience are the layers of world-building. You take Cairo, add art deco era design, add some steampunk aesthetic, add djinn, add jazz, add automatons, add amazing costumes. That seems a lot more expensive than normal fantasy fare where you can borrow sets and costumes from anything set in the vague European past. But yeah, if someone could do it right the combination is amazing.

I wonder if there is a cache of costumes somewhere that are period-appropriate. Maybe in a Bollywood studio. The volume they use for Mandalorian could save a lot of money, since the sets are largely virtual, rendered in the Unreal engine.

Although perhaps not the story of the novel; I'd rather see an episodic case of the week series than this very high stakes situation.

I'd settle for a range of Fatma's fashion suits popping up in all popular fashion retailers (at affordable prices). I reckon I would look pretty dapper in some of that ensamble!
Of course, she would despair of how ill fitting they all were and demand I see a tailor, but I wouldn't mind!
