Theresa | 15538 comments I have fallen quite far behind in Marie Force's Fatal series, and after a little due diligence picked up where I left off with Detective Sam and her politician-now-VP husband Nick. They are still adjusting to the demands and limitations of Nick's 'job', still reeling from the blows and dangers Sam and her squad have experienced recently, when a young man appears on Sam's doorstep claiming he believes he is the child of a couple whose 2 day old baby was stolen 30 years earlier. There is just one hitch: it means accusing the FBI's revered director of child kidnapping.

As always, the plot is high action and high drama, although this time not quite as up close and personal for Sam and her family. I did find the final wrap up and secrets revealed to be so outrageous as to be impossible to believe it had been kept secret for 5 minutes let alone 30 years. I still enjoyed catching up on the series, and indulging in some hot action, and I don't mean just the shootout.
