Nancy (paper_addict) One Day All This Will Be Yours by Adrian Tchaikovsky
One Day All This Will Be Yours

Welcome to the end of time. It’s a perfect day.

Nobody remembers how the Causality War started. Really, there’s no-one to remember, and nothing for them to remember if there were; that’s sort of the point. We were time warriors, and we broke time.

I was the one who ended it. Ended the fighting, tidied up the damage as much as I could.

Then I came here, to the end of it all, and gave myself a mission: to never let it happen again.

Remember to add spoiler tags. Happy reading.

Nancy (paper_addict) I just finished this and I am,not sure how I feel about it.

Cheryl (cherylllr) I gave it four stars last year. My review:

Oh so much fun. Novella the perfect length for this romp. The kind of Time Travel I like, that which embraces the paradoxes & chaos. Humorous, but with a bit of a thoughtful, even poignant, undertone.

Glynn | 342 comments I never got to check this out. I had it on hold at my local library but it never cane in and then disappeared from my holds. Weird. I forgot all about it. I'll have to ask the library what happened.

That is weird. Was it an ebook or a paper book? I had some of each on wish lists, then they were removed. The library got rid of a paper book and I guess some ebooks as well.

Nancy (paper_addict) I forgot how this book ended. I remember everything else 🤔

It was a print book (doesn't say if hardcover or paperback) and I just checked and it looks like it's back. Very weird. I placed a hold on it just now and will see what happens.

I finally got this from the library and it's very short and I read it in 2 days. It got a lot of 4 and 5 stars but I didn't like it very much. So Nancy, here is how the story ended: (view spoiler)

I finally got around to this one and it only took me a couple of days to read it. The concept was interesting, that time travelers ultimately destroyed time and waged war on time itself. It was also unique that the main character was able to go back and relive specific moments over and over again as long as he didn't stay too long. It reminded me of Lost Horizon, where the High Llama worked to gather all the great things from the world to save them from obliteration from war.

The ultimate deathmatch battle between brutal figures of history was quite creative and funny too.

Cheryl (cherylllr) Oh I'm glad that you found it worth the wait. I'll probably wind up rereading it someday; after all it is short and, as you say, has some humor.
